This work reflects on the existing gaps between black, mestizo and indigenous populations in Ecuador. The title of this work alludes to the segregation, deterritorialization, and isolation still suffered by Afro-descendant populations. They have remained absent from the country’s official history, have no representation in political parties, and lack necessary and basic tools for their integration into Ecuadorian society.
